Too Good to Be Bad

The events in this story have not been modified from its original version in any way.

WOOP! WOOP! *POLICE SIREN* (O=officer)(Dre=Andrea)

O- Do you know why I pulled you over ma’am

Dre- I wasn’t speeding and I have my seat belt on, so… no.

O-You can’t drive with your knees.

Dre- I wasn’t!

O-Well ma’am, I just saw you eating, you had a bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other (BOWL OF LAST NIGHT”S CHILI). How is that possible?

Dre-I was using my third hand??

O-Really? Are we really going to do this?

Dre- Officer, I can give you the best sob story you’ve ever heard and every single word of it will be the truth.

O- Alright, lets hear it.

Dre- Well, I’m late for work as an elementary school teacher because I had a stray dog who had been hit by a car in my driveway this morning, then I had to drop my three foster daughters off at daycare, and I am four months pregnant and if I don’t eat in the morning I am sick all day!

O- I’m really sorry ma’am, please be safe, I wont take anymore of your time!

We had our 3rd doctor’s visit today, and Ian actually managed to capture this magical moment on film.  😉  Every time we go it becomes a little more real.  I have finally started to turn the corner on my morning sickness, and the doctor even said I have gained ONE pound in 15 weeks of pregnancy.  I’ve never been so happy to hear that! 🙂 We got all of our blood tests back and everything looks perfect! She told me my blood type is A+, I’m not a carrier for cystic fibrosis, and my iron levels are good.  Our next appointment will be on June 21st.  That is when they will do the second part of the Downs syndrome screening, make sure our baby has all of the right parts in the right places, and even tell us the gender!!   Click on the link “baby heartbeat” above to see the video of the baby’s heartbeat (its on a power point).

Baby's first trip to the beach- we are going to do our best to turn him or her into a beach bum 🙂

We went car shopping today to find suitable transportation for baby.  Lets just say there’s no negotiating with a pregnant woman.  What mommy wants, mommy gets.  haha!

Love at first sight <3

Hearing your heartbeat for the first time made my heart race.  Seeing your precious little face made my love for you grow even stronger than what I felt before.  Before the doctor performed the ultrasound, they tried to hear your heartbeat from the doppler.  We sat in silence, praying, while she tried to hear it.  She never found it.  It was the most terrifying moment I have ever experienced in my whole life.  I was bawling like a baby. Thankfully, they were able to squeeze us in for a quick ultrasound.  Your heartbeat was music to our ears.  Your heartbeat was 178 beats per minute, so not only was it beating, it was beating fast and strong.  You were sticking out your tongue and waving to us.  You are almost three inches long now!  After this Sunday (4 more days),  we will have finished our first trimester of pregnancy. In about 7 more weeks, we will get to find out if you are a boy or a girl!  In only 6 more months we get to meet you, hold you and take you home.  We can’t hardly wait. You are so loved already.   From now on, I am a FIRM believer in love at first sight. 🙂
